Mag-Aso Falls in Kabankalan City

Mag- Aso Falls

Kabankalan City is at northern Negros, bustling with tourism potential. Soon a domestic airport would rise here,3 hours away from Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

20 minutes away from the city proper is Brgy Oringao where Mag-aso falls is located,  From Bacolod you can either take a Public Bus or Private car to reach the falls, we decided to take the Bus, it took us 3 hours to get there, Dont worry because the bus would pass right infront of the Brgy Entrance just inform the conductor that he should drop you to Brgy Oringao.

At the entrance a motorcycle terminal is present, it would take you to the resort, (see fare rate at the tabulation table below) 90% of the road is not pave so be ready for a bumpy ride.
It’s a 15-20 minutes ride from the terminal, upon reaching the resort the friendly staff would brief you about the accommodation rate (see rate at the tabulation table below).

However, if you just would like to stay for a day, it would be better to scout for a place where you can leave your things just keep your Valuables. The resort highlights a couple of place where you can enjoy and dip... it has two manmade pools one for adult and kids.

Then if you’re bored of the manmade pools... well here’s the infamous falls where the resort got its name the Mag-aso falls, legend has it that there’s a time when water current is strong, that while the water is falling down the mist would create an illusion that its smoking hence the name Mag-Aso (ASO means SMOKE in Hiligayno, dialect in Negros Occidental)

Curiosity calls..... that the falls is not enough we would like to see where does the water coming from, so we went up then there’s this.... as small falls where you can dip and enjoy a mini falls.

Over all our travel was worthwhile, we both enjoy manmade and natures creations. Its a bit of mystical looking river or yet nature at its best!
